Bio:
Sue Magrath is a retired mental health counselor and spiritual director. In her work, she encountered many survivors of child sexual abuse. Seeking to tell their stories of emotional and spiritual healing to a broader audience, she conceived of her new novel, The Salvation of Poetry. Synopsis:
Both heart-breaking and triumphant, The Salvation of Poetry tells the story of Emily Snow, who is orphaned at the age of ten. Her foster parents send her to Catholic school, where she finds solace in the poetry of Emily Dickinson. Little does she know how much she will need this solace when a hidden trauma unfolds. As an adult, memories that had been relegated to the dark recesses of her mind return to threaten her sanity and even her life. Through it all, poetry becomes a healing thread on her journey from horror and heartbreak to hope, wholeness, renewed faith, and finally love.
